Riding Lessons - Ages 7+

Did you know horseback riding teaches us more about ourselves than we know?
Horses teach us patience, responsibility, kindness, regulation, confidence, posture, leadership, accountability, awareness, and so much more!
Lexi gives one-on-one horsemanship lessons from beginner to advanced levels in many disciplines. She specializes in balance and posture with emphasis in barrel racing and pole bending, though she knows much about the horse show world as well. No matter the chosen discipline, an aspiring rider absolutely must have an understanding of proper balance and posture for both horse and rider!
As a beginner, Reining It In ensures you know everything from grooming and body condition scoring to effective communication under saddle and on the ground. We advance you at your own pace, all while continuously challenging you. Only you can climb your unique horsemanship ladder.
Do you have a young child who is absolutely horse crazy? Lexi is happy to introduce them to the horses, let them get to know horses, and teach them all they can know! Already know the basics? That’s awesome! Book an evaluation and we will take you to the next level on your horsemanship ladder.

Virtual lessons are a new addition to our services, giving clients the ability to gain guidance from home and conveniently improve their horsemanship. If you do not want to fuss with hauling or inconveniences of in person scheduling, long distance, or simply cannot haul, virtual lessons are for you. More information about distance lessons here.

Lexi sees first hand the struggles new horse owners face, always ensuring she helps in every place she can when students decide to dive head first into the wonderful, confusing world of equine ownership. It is daunting for many, but when well-informed, anyone can easily navigate such an endeavor. That is what Lexi is creating at this time. Be on the lookout for a release!
Integrated Horse Training & Rehabilitation
30 Day Rate:
$1300 Dry Lot Board (does NOT include hay)

Lexi loves the rewards when it comes to training horses. She trains with great patience and humility. When training horses, one needs to know how to read the animal before ever starting their training. Lexi works with horses at their pace and she does not advance them until they’re both physically and mentally ready with any activity.
Lexi can restore muscular integrity, mentally regulate, desensitize, bomb-proof, put miles on, show, and train your horse for nearly everything you want. Lexi is amazing with problem horses especially. She has experience in the western show world and trail riding, in addition to extensive knowledge of barrel racing and pole bending, and is working tirelessly to add even more. Lexi works horses with heavy emphasis on posture and strength, ensuring that the other 23 hours of the day your horse is not being worked are also in good use. Lexi is honest and hard working, ensuring she is constantly advocating for every horse’s best interest that crosses her path.
All horses must go through a multi-step program, though not at once to ensure healthy development. An acclimation period is needed to ensure each horse is settled before training.

Are you looking for hands on experiences to learn more? Interested in diving into equine mindfulness but have no idea where to start? You’re in the right place!
Clinic topics will range from husbandry, riding, handling, training, massage, kinesiology taping, and anything between! There is so much to learn in the equine world and so little opportunities to learn them hands on, especially in Southern Illinois that we strive to bring something this area needs to the table.

Lexi has always wanted to dive deeper into helping all the horses in her care, massage being one of the first she began wrapping her head around. Upon taking Schaeffer Bodyworks LLC’s owner’s massage class, she was hooked and planned to certify as soon as possible.
Finally, Lexi was able to enroll into the certification class and is extremely excited to begin offering this service for any horses that need it!
